  Dit Da Jow Bruise Liniment
  Dit Da Jow Bruise Liniment

Dit Da Jow or Die Da Jiu (lit. "hit-fall wine") Bruise Liniment is a customized blend of herbs that is the NUMBER ONE REMEDY FOR BRUISES OF ALL KINDS. It is rubbed into the skin and known for its ability to heal bruises, sprains and strains, carpal tunnel inflammation, and other injuries.
This formula contains ingredients that stop pain, reduce swelling and inflammation and disperse stagnant qi and blood. It is comprised of cooling herbs to reduce swelling and inflammation as effectively as ice; and warming herbs that kill pain, promote circulation, and break up accumulations of stagnant blood and fluids.

The formulation made by the Suigetsu Shop is far more potent than commercial formulas. Our Dit Da Jow Standard Formula has been aged a minimum of 6 months, unlike many commercial formulas that are aged only a few weeks. The Extra-Strength Jow has been aged more than 1 year.

When do I use it?
* On sore spots caused by impact, whether they cause visible bruising or not.
* Use it on sprains and strains.
* For muscles that are sore immediately after training (but not sore from older injuries).
How to apply:
*** Dit Da Jow is for external use only. Do not apply to broken skin. ***
Bruises:
Put a small amount in your palm and pat gently into the injured area. Then use your thumb or 3 fingers to massage sore spots and break up lumps of accumulation. Start lightly and gradually work the liniment in more deeply as the pain subsides.
Muscle pulls & sprains:
Massage the liniment into knots in the muscle. Try to break up knots by following the direction of the muscle fibers (longitudinally). Also massage into the muscle attachments.
How often?
Use as soon as possible after the injury and 3x per day or more for the next 24-36 hours.

Dit Da Jow comes in three sizes:
Regular Strength is available in 2 oz and 4 oz bottles.
Extra-Strength Dit Da Jow (aged over 1 year) is available only in the 2 oz bottle.

Want to make your own?
The herb package contains the same herbs we use, with enough to make 1 gallon of Dit Da Jow.
Instructions:
Mix the herbs in a one gallon dark glass bottle with vodka or gin. Fill to the top so there is no air space. Seal tightly. Do not use any kind of plastic bottle! Store in a cool dark place and shake thoroughly once a day. In about 6 weeks you can start using it; but the longer you wait, the stronger it gets. If necessary, pour off only what you need and reseal the bottle.

Ingredients:
sheng di huang, tao ren, mu gua, wang bu liu xing, ze lan, su mu, cao wu, chuan wu, chen pi, dang gui wei, ru xiang, mo yao, huang qin, huang bo, da huang, mu zei, tu bie chong, zi ran tong, fu long ye, bai zhi, hong hua, xiang fu, bai zhi, in alcohol (vodka) base.

More Information:
Dit da jow is a trauma liniment whose name in Chinese literally means "fall hit wine", is the number one remedy for bruises, contusions, sprains, and factures.

Most bruises are usually shrugged off by athletes and martial artists as minor injuries that will heal themselves. Over the centuries, kung fu practitioners noticed that large bruises or repeated bruising on one area sometimes created accumulations of stagnant qi and blood that could cause serious health problems years later. Trauma liniment was developed to disperse these accumulations and treat sports injuries, thereby prolonging an athlete's career and health.
Often a martial arts master blended his unique mixture of many aromatic herbs such as myrrh and ginseng, which were combined to stimulate circulation, reduce pain and swelling, and improve healing for his students' injuries and wounds. The tradition became known as hit medicine."Dit da jow" is the common spelling. However, the correct term is "dit da jau" in Cantonese, and "die da jiu" Mandarin.

Many people have also found this sort of liquid analgesic to be useful for reducing aching muscles, arthritis and rheumatism discomfort.

Dit Da Jow is Amazing!! June 28, 2009
Reviewer: Paul Papandrew from Lynbrook, NY United States
Catching for my son during pitching practice, he skip a pitch off the driveway and it hit my shin. My leg almost instantly lumped up the size of half a tennis ball. I immediately applied the Dit Da Low and literally watched the swelling and bruising disappear. I applied it again in the evening and by morning there was no evidence of the injury other than some lingering soreness to the touch. I could not believe how effective this was. Amazing is the only way to describe it.

Dit Da Jow Review July 27, 2008
Reviewer: John Joerg from Venice, FL United States
I'm in the Tree Trimming and Removal Business. While we were chipping a large branch, the end of it swung around and nipped the edge of my thumb, leaving it numb. The next day I noticed the edge of the thumb was bruised with raw flesh protruding between the bruise and the thumn nail. I applied Dit Da Jow 3 times. The bruise dried like a blister, and the flesh receded into the thumb with very little pain. Amazing!

I used DDJ on bruising from blocking drills in class and it was great.  It got rid of the bruises much faster than anything else I've tried.

Dit Da Jow Review June 30, 2007
Reviewer: Sandra Workman-Smith from Northport, NY United States
I am now four days out from my black belt test.  Both forearms were severely bruised and swollen from wrist to elbow after extreme reflex blocking during my test.  I applied generous doses of DDJ 4 times per day for two days.  By the end of day two, swelling was gone.  By day four, the bruising is almost completely gone with no residual tenderness.
